My Introduction To Kiko Cosmetics

Kiko is a brand that has burst onto the beauty scene in the past year due to a few rave reviews from big bloggers, and now everyone is in on the fun. It's a brand I have personally coveted for just as long, as it's not attainable outside of Europe. Stepping into a Kiko store for the first time was incredibly exciting for me, and although I knew it was an affordable brand, the prices still shocked me! I picked up just a couple of pieces, as I knew I would be returning for more at some point!

My First French Pharmacie Haul

The experience of walking into a French pharmacie is something I've dreamed about since I first decided on going to Paris on exchange, along with seeing such a beautiful city, of course. When I finally set foot in one it actually felt comfortingly like home - the same stark, harshly lit and down to business type layout that I'm used to. However the choices are overwhelming and I didn't know what to do with myself, so I reached for the tried and true and vouched to not return without doing some more research.

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrate

This seems to be at the top of everyones "If you only buy one thing, make it this" list when it comes to French products. I have heard nothing but incredible things and I knew I needed to give it a go for myself. I opted for the smaller tube, just in case, but after using it a few times now I think it's safe to say I'll be purchasing the bigger one at some point.

Maybelline Tenue & Strong Pro in 'Sea Sky'

The Maybelline counter is the first thing I made a beeline for when I went to Monoprix for the first time as I was on the hunt for this polish. I have been obsessed with the shade ever since Amelia from Amelia Liana started wearing it, which was possibly an entire year ago! This colour never came out in the Australian launch, so I was determined to get it while on European soil.

Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lip Moisturising Stick

The original Nuxe Rêve de Miel is my favourite balm of all time and I use it daily, but I never take it on the go with me as it's quite heavy and I want to avoid that awkward balmy finger that you end up wiping on your pants even though you know better. The formulation of this is definitely reminiscent of the original, but it's less thick and more "day time" appropriate, if a lip balm can be such a thing. It sits really well under lipsticks as well, which I love.

Caudalie Eu De Beautè

This is another one of those cult favourites that I felt I needed to give a whirl for myself. I have been obsessed with facial mists lately as well, so this is probably the first of many that will grace this blog's pages. While I have been enjoying this product a lot, I find that it makes my eyes sting even though it's such a fine mist and couldn't be getting into them. Has anyone else had this experience?

Do you have any French pharmacie recommendations for me? I would love if you could tell me what they do and why you love them.

Bonjour, Paris!

I envisioned myself tapping away this post contently in the waiting area of the airport while I waited for my coach to whisk me away to the city centre, however that did not happen. Instead, I'm sitting here catching up on Shaaanxo vlogs that I was off the radar for, having already had a day to explore the city.

What's In My Travel Makeup Bag?

I have honestly been dreading the time where it came to sitting down and sorting through my makeup in preparation for my exchange program since I found out I was leaving, however when it came to it I had no difficulties except on the lip product front - but that's a separate post in itself! When I look at this, it seems excessive in a way because I will undoubtedly be shopping while I'm away, but it also does cover all of the bases and I do use these products almost daily.

Gotta Glow

The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer is one of the first products that comes to mind when it comes to highlighting, up there with MAC's 'Soft and Gentle' it has created such an unparalleled reputation for itself that I had the highest possible expectations. After swatching back and forth between 'Soft and Gentle' and Mary-Lou during a leisurely department store browse with my sister last night, my sights were finally set on one of the two products I'd been tossing up between for what feels like months.

Keep Calm

I have been super sick this week which has resulted in some serious bed rest and boredom. While I am more than happy to lay in bed all day, I definitely can't do it for long without some form of entertainment. I read a book or two and watched countless YouTube videos, but I then decided to crack out my "adult" colouring book. I had originally purchased this as a means of conquering some airplane-related anxiety as I thought it would be a good way to distract and calm myself on my impending flight, but I decided to give it a whirl as a boredom curer.

The Review: Lash Sensational Mascara

I feel I start every mascara-oriented post off the same way, by stating how fussy I am with mascaras, but I do have a specific criteria that needs to be met for me to genuinely enjoy a product. Usually they have to be quite dry in formula with a non-plastic brush and then they are on the right track. Reading that description, if you have tried the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, you will know that it doesn't fit that criteria at all - and that is what shocked me most about this product.

This Week #1

"The Sunday Post" is one of my favourites to write as it's just so chatty, impromptu and can be about whatever is on my mind. However, I don't always get a chance to write it on the Sunday and I feel so strange writing it on a Monday even if it is still Sunday for the rest of the world. That is why I have decided to include a "This Week" feature on my blog, so I have another source of chattiness that isn't restricted to my Sunday time slot. So without anymore rambling (though isn't that the point?), this week I...
